PRESENTATION NIGHT SUMMER '08
No sooner had this season seem to begin, then it was all over!! Shambles found themselves not quite languishing at the bottom of the table but a respectable 8th place.
And so we found ourselves at our traditional end of season bash, this time not at our usual haunt of The Source Factory ( how inconsiderate to close it down without even asking us! ) but now at the unknown Barn Owl, so chosen not because of its culinery delights, nor its quaint ambiance but because its only walking distance for Chris !!
With the exception of manager Graham who had an unavoidable abscence, all slowly made an appearance, following their friendly victory earlier in the evening against old foes Coogans. ( sorry Steve but you can't count!).
Food was ordered and the voting discussed for Players' Player to be cast that evening. The food was great it has to be said, and the 2 for 1 deal made it taste somewhat sweeter!
Also under great discussion was the choice of new shirts for next season and which numbers /names to have. The style eventually chosen was a nike shirt with go faster stripes! Dave needs all the help he can get.
Now to the awards. For Golden boot award , this season there was no clear winner and ended in a tie with both Craig and Ade both scoring 13 ( Dave insisting that in his head he scored more !) . It all came down to games played and with Craig only playing 10 to Ade's 14 , he was duly awarded the Trophy. Not bad for his first season.
Next came Players' Player which after counting and recounting all votes cast went to keeper Darren, who again was playing his first season, and sadly his last! as he is moving back to his old team Westlife.
