END OF SEASON BASH OCTOBER 2007 Minimize

Shambles End of Season Bash October 2007

The Tradition end of season bash at The Sauce Factory was a relatively low key affair with notable absentees . Carlos - working in London, Carl - otherwise engaged and Chris with his new  family . - Chris ,each and every one of your team mates sends their best wishes .

The bash set off with The Shambles in deep negociation for  a new summer sponsor who will provide a much needed shorter sleeve shirt to replace the "bacofoil" shirts we have to endure during those hot summer games.

Top Scorer Dave noted upon arrival  that perhaps the trophies were sponsored by Kinder eggs this season as he could only just see the tiny Golden Boot award hiding behind a pepper pot !

As normal with such a prestigious event, all attendees were treated to superb "feast" of culinary delights from resident chef, Dave, who never fails to impress. The Gourmet Burgers went down a treat with seconds being required by most.

Now to the awards themselves, voting was cast for the players' player of the season with all absentees already having cast their vote by proxy. After counting it was a tie! and Captain Shirehorse came up with a  voting system of Eurovision style complexity! ALL the voting was done again and while all votes were being calculated, Perdiswell Referee, Dave turned up with the REAL trophies.

Dave was then awarded a trophey deserved of his outstanding goal tally during this short season. Dave thanks Carlos , the winner of this award for the previous 2 seasons, for not actually playing much this season.

Player's player was then awarded to Chris for his outstanding effort this season which was accepted on his behalf by Captin Shirehorse Tim.

The Kinder Egg sponsored tiny trophy was then allocated for a new award this season - The Champaine Moment Award. This was decided to be awarded for the outstanding moment of the season award, be it best arguement, best Teddy out of the Cot, best tackle, best hair etc..

Dave The Ref noted that he had witnessed one of the best goals he had ever seen this season, when Shambles' Dave took a ball from out of the corner surrounded by opposition defenders, beat one, beat two, back to goal , turned and beat the hapless keeper. Trophy number 2 for Dave!

Dave was then "awarded" his best trophy of the night in the form of a fantastic creation in Cream, Chocolate and a bit of fruit! A superb pudding created by masterchef Dave to honour a great achievement!

Congratulations to both players and to all the other team members who contributed to The Shambles fantastic 4th place finish.
