Both teams were struggling to get a side together for this match with Perdiswell apparantly missing key players and Shambles numbers dropping like flies by the hour. First  Worst, then Blink having to work, Postie on Matrimonial duties, Flash being bitten by said fly and almost loosing a leg( ok a bit of a red mark but it was close!) and new mystery boy struck down with Laringitus. It was up to captain peg leg to dust off his trusty shirt and step into the fray once more and ralley the diminished troops, Clint, Will.I.am, HRH,Mickey and Sinbad ( who seems to only be able to be contacted via Yankee Doodle Pigeon as "texting" as too new technology!)

The match kicked off with neither team settling quickly and not much happening.

Mickey and HRH linked up well together but could not get the finishing touch away ( Hat trick HRH?? must have been a fluke!) Will.I.am tried to defend against 2 attacking Perdiswell players but was double teamed leaving him somehow on the floor .Elbowed in the stomach you say Will??

Despite some good defending by Mickey it was a good job that the Perdiswell attackers couldnt shoot straight as some glaring chances escaped them. Mickey then sent a great pass forward to Sinbad who took his own chance well . GOAL. Sinbad celebrated via the gift of semafor!

Mickey was unlucky not to double this score shortly after latching onto a quickly taken free kick. One Perdiswell attacker must have been trying to emulate Tom Daley with his tuck and roll antics as he seemed to be spending a lot of time on the floor. Sinbad offered to give him a 5.5 for his effort in the corner he adpoted the "Pike " position after Sinbad had taken the ball but seemingly the player in ref Dave's eyes! Stupid Boy!  Will.I.am please dont argue with Dave it really was a 5.5! !  Perdiswell played some great passing moves which ended in a long range shot somehow finding the back of the Shambes' net

Perdiswell , seeming to find a bit of space then hit the post to deny them another, HRH then thought it would be nice to be a Bulldozer and try and go through a player instead of round him.

Half time whistle went and while swapping over , one of the Perdiswell subs dissapeared but was soon spotted on the next pitch helping to put the trampolines away!

Second half commenced with Will.I.am having a good effort from distance and then another Perdiswell player now emulating JPR Williams pushed Mickey right over , going unoticed by Dave the unbiased ref who was looking the other way at the time.

Flash was telling anyone who would listen that " I hope no-one passes to that unmarked player on the edge of the box as it would surely be a tap-in" D'oh! too late

Shambles 1 : Perdiswell 2

The Perdiswell sub who'd dissapeared earlier to trampoline duty soon "bounced " back into the game "jumping"onto the bench once again. Sinbad then put a great ball forward to put Mickey through who, having turned the defender, couldnt quite get enough umph behind the shot to trouble the keeper much.

Mickey tried again this time from distance intercepting a pass and then unleashing a long range shot, just wide. Clint pulled off some great saves to keep Shambles hopes alive. Captain Peg Leg then found himself in uncharted waters by being in a shooting opportunity close to the Perdiswell goal, but somehow having his shot richochet between the keepers legs and the ball rolling square across the goal mouth and out to safety. Perdiswell were feeling confident and would surely have scored again if not for Clint's great string of saves. Will.I.am tried again from distance but still couldnt find the target.

Flash again from the gallery - " oh there's that unmarked player again, surely it wont hppen again?"  D'oh!  goal and a bit of Deja-vu!

HRH's immeadiate response was to try and shoot over the bar from distance but the Perdiswell keeper was having none of it and somehow plucked the ball mid air and swung it into his own net. Now THAT was definitely an own goal HRH!!

Was it time for a famous Shambles comeback? , was it time for the rag tag team to ralley together and produce the drawer they deserved? was it time for someone to spot that same unmarked player standing in the same spot as before? Bugger !!!
