Situated in a lowly 9th position after 8 matches, the famous Yellow Army were looking to turn around a poor start to the new campaign and end a winless streak of 3 games...
 
The latest installment of the rollercoaster season involved playing the leagues new boys of Citie Central... The Yellow Army were after a change of fortunes to get the season up and running again and put one over on old friend and captain Tim!!
 
Even before the game began, it appeared that lady luck was weaving her magic... Pitch number 2 and the referee was... DECENT!!!! (If you haven't guessed who wrote this already, then you will have now!!) There was also a slight alteration to the usual yellow uniform... Green bibs! Would this help contribute to the change of luck or just sort out the dribbling! Ha ha! Ooh dear!
 
Citie Central started proceedings...
 
Within 30 seconds... BOOM! 0-1! Blink with a tidy finish into the bottom corner...
 
Another 30 seconds... BOOM! 0-2! No hanging about here! Blink senior creeping up unnoticed from the back to slot inside the keepers near post, after an excellent assist from Carl... (Anything you can do, I can do better!!)
 
After the whirlwind beginning to the half, it was a credit to the Shambles' 7 on show that they defended resolutely and kept Citie Central at bay... Our very own 'cat' between the sticks contributed to a solid 1st half showing with some fine saves...
 
Before the end of the half and after soaking up plenty of pressure... BOOM! 0-3! Blinks deflected effort (off Tim's outstretched boot! Ha ha!)...
 
Half-time... CITIE CENTRAL 0-3 SHAMBLES
 
During a 1st period of which he contributed 2 very good assists, Carl was having trouble in front of goal and his radar was firing off course slightly! However it didn't take him long to extend the Shambles' advantage... 0-4! Predatory strike after sloppy defending by the opposition...
 
It wasn't long before Citie replied with a goal of their own... 1-4! A miss-hit, miss-timed, left footed pea roller through Blink seniors legs into the far corner of an unsighted James' net!! Ouch!
 
Only took a matter of minutes before the 4 goal lead was restored... 1-5! Blink with a miss-hit, miss-timed, left footed effort, only going through no ones legs this time!!
 
Carl then finished emphatically after a Shambles counter attack... 1-6! The Yellow Army were in dreamland!!
 
The icing on the cake came from Blink who slid the ball under an advancing keeper... 1-7!!

An all round excellent team display... Sound defensively with Worst and Blink senior taking the game to the opposition in both halves of the pitch... Even our very own Flash blocking a shot (only a rumour, i didn't see it!!)... James' superb agility and distribution helping hugely... Carl and Blink sharing 6 goals and there is of course our very own marathon man Rob... Who gave an all action display and almost managed to smash the gallery window with an effort on goal!! (apparently it was!)... This time i'm pleased to report was given as over head height and seen by the official... MEE-OW!!!
