Hello Sailor, Bad boy SIN-bad confirms Shambles comeback
Hello Sailor, Bad boy SIN-bad confirms Shambles comeback

Having suffered a Week 1 setback, the new look Shambles were drawn to face last season's fierce rivals, Knowles Sports.

For Week 2, I decided to go and talk to the team before he game. First news was to confirm the absence of the "Offensive defender" whose daughter was ill, get well soon Hattie.

For the first time since the same opposition had re-engineered his schnozzer, Blues made a return to the line up.

Having no doubt totally ignored my pre-match instructions the Shambles took to the gym.

Straight from the off the pace was hectic, the team formations noticeable by their absence. It was like an explosion in a fireworks factory. Will.I.am leading the charge seemingly being everywhere. counteracting my instruction to SIN-bad to not charge around.

Worst taking over from the offensive defender, proving my team talk had vanished into the ether, produced the first near miss, his shot drifting narrowly wide of the keeper's far post. Promising.

However, shortly afterwards, and unviewable from my vantage point, Knowles went ahead from a relatively tight angle. This reporter woindering how it had happened. Knowles strolled back looking confident. The Shambles gathered themselves for the restart.

The pace still continued at a high pace as the two sides traded blows. The Shambles looked good at times with slick interchanges, but at times the cohesion was lost bbut everyone tracked back and saved the day.

Justly, the Shambles came back to level. Blues latched on to a probing pass forward. Seemingly not having any real options he met the ball with his instep, precisely finding the far corner past the stranded keeper. Good team goal, finished well, 1-1.

Will.I.am made a superb last ditch block towards the end of the first half as this reorter feared the worst.

A promising start by the Shambles, containing good pace at times combined with firm, but fair, tackling. Even Flash went straight into a trot when he came on as a substitute.

To the second half which would be an interesting one.

Knowles were getting considerable possession but dogged defending by the Shambles was saving the day. Understandably based on the pace from the start a few soft passes were being hit.

As the firm nudges and tackles went in , a bit of frustration came in to play, and a bit of handbags, availablle from Knowles' other Worcester outlet, started to appear.

Finally SIN-bad influenced the Dark side of Darth Dave, and found himself sin binned for continually ignoring the angry ewok.

The Shambles understandably came under siege, and despite resolute defending, chances for Knowles understandably appeared. However, Clint came to the fore. cat-like, he threw himself left and right making 2 great saves with his feet. It was like watching Antonio Banderas in Robert  Rodriguez's, El Mariachi, but this time in front of the bar and not behind it.

Will.I.am almost got himself sin binned at the same time time but heeded the words of the pint-sized ref.

SIN-bad made his return from the bin, and soon had his team mates jumping for joy with a neatly taken effort.....2-1.

Knowles let their frustration get to them and lost their edge and the Shambles comfortably held on to their lead.

A well earned victory with the Shambles  displaying an admirable performances both in defence and attack. Pace, urgency, teamwork and tenacity. A good platform on which to build.
