With the Second division championship in the bag already , The Shambles were hoping to end the season on a high. Things got off to a bad start with the call from keeper Clint who decided he was struck down with swine flu or something and wasnt well enough to attend ( I would have said wasn't fit enough to play but where would that leave me !) A frantic search for a stand in keeper resulted in complete silence meaning captain G-man would have to step into the fray!

With the kick off looming HRH suddenly volunteered to step into Clint's illustrious Gloves with G-man taking over at half time, well that was the plan anyway.

Play got underway and Bandit soon got things going with a Rocket past ex Shambles' keeper Darren, making it 1 - 0 to Shambles but more important for Bandit , bringing him level with Blink for this season's golden boot!  Surely Blink couldn't win it for a 3rd season running on a tie but with less games played??

HRH decided to liven things up by first being nutmegged for the equaliser 1 - 1 , then shortly after somehow actually assissting the ball into his own net to make it  2 - 1 to westside! 

Shambles were lucky not to have conceded 2 penalties with HRH seemingly just out when he cleared and Jethro standing inside while recieving a back pass! Ref Dave must have been unsighted!

Captain G-man then decided to take over between the posts and put HRH out of his misery. but alas Westlife spoiled the party by scoring not once but twice before the half time whistle to make it 4 - 1 in their favour.

With the start of the second half underway Shambles had regrouped and with a second wind, looked a different team, Bandit struck twice more to bring the game within Shambles' grasp 4 - 3. Shambles threw all they could at Darren but some excellent saves denied both Bandit and Blink when seemingly they would both score. G-man must have been taking notes as he too produced some excellent saves of his own to keep Shambles in the game.

A couple of Westside players decided to try and kill the game by hiding the ball in the corner and not let anyone near, HRH and Postie were having none of it however and pilled in dtermined to get it in play again. Unfortunatly the indoor fireworks started with HRH and his Westlife opponent nose to nose at one point with the result of them both being sent off for the rest of the game, but not before Mr Westside trying to stare out Captain G-man who politely just poked his tongue out at him! The other Westside combatant in this melley somehow decided it would be his freekick and when told it was wasnt decided to kick the ball away, almost getting sidelined himself especially when he stood over the ball and not the customery 2 yards back!

With both teams down to 4 players and time running out ,Shambles threw all  forward but were caught by a Westside counter attack that somehow managed to evade stand in keeper G-man making it 5 - 3 in their favour.

As the final whistle blew The Shambles winning  season concluded on rather an anti-climax
