Captain Gman reporting from his self imposed exile up in the Gods.
Round 13 in what must be one of the closest battles at the top in a long time. Shambles, Knowles, BBQ & Horse hoping each other slip up.
It was the Shambles who kicked off proceedings. Early on the "Offensive Defender" was out done by fellow defender Keith "The Count" Blincoe who had his early shot saved.....A round of applause from his growing army of 'Footy Fangs'.
Next up, business as usual as "The Bandit" had a shot saved.
Some good interplay before Flash's Choc bar gave him wings, albeit they are as useful as Penguin wings, as he had a shot saved.
BJH soon had a shot saved by "Clint" in goal, followed by a glaring miss by another BJH player.
BJH were chasing everything but it was not quite happening.
Things were getting worse for BJH as Flash struck another shot across goal.
Finally, HRH having put down a picture of his "Prince Albert" (apparently he is related to royalty??), had a shot saved following a Flash rebound. Just for good measure he then had another shot saved.
"The Bandit" got in another sighter which was then followed by a shot from "Worst". "Worst" luck he was inside the area.
He then had another shot saved. Would a Shambles goal ever come??
Not this half! BJH had a shot go wide and a couple of free kicks interspersed by a Bandit effort being saved.
Half time 0-0.
BJH got the second half.
Who's this at 12 o'clock high.....Yes, it's the Bandit.....Longish range effort.....Goooooooo-aaal....1-0. Deserved for the effort the Shambles had put in.
Flash, running on the last crumbs of a Wispa Gold missed the goal with an effort. The Shambles suffered a short spell of half hearted passes which gave BJH some possession.
Flash got another shot in before he resorted to sniffing the vapours from the Wispa Gold bar, and licking the melted chocolate crumbs from his shirt in desperation,
Then a moment of magic as "The Count" from just inside the BJH half drove a shot like a stake through the heart of the BJH defence (careful there count!!)....Splendido Goooooo-aaal.....2-0.
This effectively killed off BJH.
"The Bandit" then had a shot saved and soon followed up with a rare spot of sloppy play which saw him bamboozle himself and lose possession.
However following fine interplay "The Bandit" made amends with another GOOOO-AAAl.....3-0.
Fine interplay between HRH, Postie & "The Bandit" saw "The Bandit" have another saved.
Soon another piece of fine interplay was wasted.
HRH dinked one over the cross bar. "The bandit" missed with another effort.
Full time...3-0.
The tension rumbles on as we go into the final 5 games.
