Shambles certainly were no mugs!
Shambles certainly were no mugs!

it was 3 weeks since the "yellow army" had tasted victory... a very determined outfit stood in the way... an interesting game in prospect... made even more interesting by being caught on camera! no getting away with anything this week gentlemen...
the early exchanges of this affair belonged to the shambles, but in traditional fashion the 1st goal of the evening went to the mug... 0-1!
on assessment after the game, it proved to be the best thing that the mug could have done to spark the shambles into life... blink levelled matters with a left foot swinger into the top corner... 1-1!
shortly afterwards, another left foot swinger into the bottom corner... 2-1!
without being outdone the bandit showed his left foot finishing prowess with a ripper... 3-1!
before the mug could re-group, a good passing move resulted in blink completing his hat-trick... 4-1!
in between all the goal mouth mayhem of the 1st half my trusted cameraman spotted 2 very dubious pieces of defending... told you no one was getting away with anything! worst apparently getting skinned alive for the mug opener... (sorry m8!) and hrh doing his best swan lake impression in the middle of a 5-a-side arena... oh dear!

Half-time scoreline: Shambles 4 Mug 1

second half began slowly... but the bandit almost brought it to life with another ripper... only to smack the crossbar with a left foot pile-driver...
not to be deterred and sensing a way back into the game, the mug reduced the arrears with a smashing goal of their own... 4-2!
this goal began 90 seconds of madness... only would you see this watching the "yellow army" in action... 4-3!
oh no... 4-4!
so from a seemingly comfortable position of a 3 goal deficit, the game was heading for a draw... that was until the shambles issued their very own triple whammy in the shape of the bandits fine right foot finish... 5-4!
blinks right foot shot... 6-4!
and hrh, recovering from his earlier dizzy spell, completed the scoring after another good passing move... 7-4!

Full-time scoreline Shambles 7 Mug 4

second half analysis from my trusted cameraman indicated that the g-man was having an absolute mare for the mugs equaliser... (sorry boss!) think my trusted cameraman had it in for the defence in his post match notes!! (like the way i've put the blame on him!!!!!!!!!!)
but on the whole it was a good feeling to get back to winning ways... long may it continue!!
