BJH 0 Shambles 1
BJH 0 Shambles 1

The Shambles arrived in the first round of the summer six a side under the captaincy of Ade before his annually required summer rehabilitation programme and Ian finding himself in goal…..

The Shambles began well forcing the game into a quick early pace giving the BJH players little time on the ball, with both Dave and Ade forcing saves from the opposition keeper.

With Keith and Chris looking solid at the back the team continued to push forward, Dave hitting a snap shot which struck a post and flew skywards leaving the goalie stranded. Suddenly and as if by magic an Ade appeared to power a header into the net.

BJH upped the pace and began to exert some pressure of their own before half time with Ian making a good save and Keith blocking 2 goal bound efforts.

The second half began as the first had ended BJH probing the shambles defence for scoring opportunities as they did the Shambles settled into playing on the counter attack twice coming close to adding to their lead including Dave hitting another post leaving him to wonder if he had Rob’s shirt on.

Late on as BJH threw caution to the wind looking for an equaliser, but find Chris and Keith in miserly form, more chances went begging for the Shambles. Ade hitting a fierce effort across the keeper and then a great cross from the same player arced arrow like to the back post where Dave rose salmon like and majestic to head agonisingly wide.

The match over Ade was left to congratulate himself on gaining another match with the captain’s armband.

Good write up, a bit short though considering you took 4 weeks to write it up.
