With the last game upon us, it was important for the Mighty Shambles to put in a good show and send off for Bully (His Last League game).
We started well with a great pass from James Plant to Craig to slot home the first goal of the night.
As soon as the goal went in Flash commented to Bully whilst they were on the bench “We’ve haven’t had a clean sheet this season yet, maybe today’s the day” to which Bully just fell over laughing at.
Bully was soon to be proven right when one of the Knowles Sports attackers walked around the maraudering defensive and slotted in an acute angled shot much to Planty’s disgust.
Hungry to put pressure on the young lad James H, Craig fired in a screamer to take his goal tally into golden boot territory.
Legs were already getting tired and without any closing down one of the Knowles Sports defenders thought their luck was in and hoofed a shot that buried into the corner of the goal, giving Planty no chance making it 2 – 2.
HRH decided to get on the score sheet after several wasted passes from the generous Bully he eventually pulled the trigger and although it was off target (naturally) it hit the cross bar and then on to their keepers back and into their goal 3 -2 Half time Score.
This seemed to be one game too many for poor old Flash as he actually found himself in unfamiliar territory – In defence – I kid you not! He did attempt to stare the opposition off the ball but running and tackling was out of the question and the opposition soon capitalised to make it 3-3.
Since Craig is sporting fellow he decided to slide a perfect cross goal pass to James, making sure it was on his left foot (otherwise he would have been buggered), so that James H. could rejoin him back at the top of the goals scored leader board, 4-3.
James H. was running like a headless chicken for the remainder of the game to try and pip Craig to the golden boot and the perfect opportunity arouse just before full time to see James hit the cross bar only to follow up with a rebound into the goal. Unfortunately he didn’t realise that when he kicked the ball he was closer to the goal line than the opposition’s keeper and was blatantly inside the area.
4-3 It finished to the shambles.
As usual amongst the tears Blues mentioned that it was all o.k. “It don’t matter, wee won the game” – Yeah Right!
As with most weeks Bully got the round in as the rest of the team were tying their shoes up and tripping up on the way to the bar, with their short arms and deep pockets!
