Unfortunately it wasn’t long until the shambles found themselves 1-0 down, but to their credit they had been holding their own and it took a rebound from a good save from the substitute keeper Best that allowed them to break the deadlock.
Time for a quick double substitution, Postie for HRH & Flash for Bully.
It stayed 1-0 for a while with the shambles having the best possession play seen for a long time, until after a spirited run from the skipper cracked a left footer off the inside of the BJH’s post and into the net, deservedly making it 1-1.
Half Time
Once again soon after the start the shambles found them 2-1 down, unfortunately at times the defense was running after one player and leaving the other attacker free to roam in the pastures waiting for the killing pass.
I was time for the Shambles attack to have their say and Bully started closing down players unfortunate not to convert a couple BJH defensive errors, but eventually HRH made a dashing royal run with his chariot only to lay it off to Bully to slot away to make it 2-2.
Postie had a couple of chances that went begging in front of goal, getting the gitters with the sight of those pearly white posts.
Skipper had a run in with the ref after flattening a BJH attacker who was heavily shoulder barging him.
Then the golden boot seeker ‘Blues’ slipped a tackle or two and cracked a hot away to put Shambles in front 3-2. This surely would seal a victory for the mighty Shambles with only a minute to go.
But No! With only seconds remaining the BJH threw everything at the shambles and with the last kick of the game cracked a shot that looked like it was saved by the impressive keeper Best, but no he needed a bit more belly as it slipped underneath him as he dived to make it 3-3.
As soon as we kicked off again the whistle when for full time 3-3.
Good effort lads, we deserved a win, good play in places.
