Our heroes’ latest opponents were non-other than the Aubergine Assassins of Knowles.

The Super Power which is Shambles this week unveiled a plethora of reckless abandon in presenting to the Perdiswell Athena : Worst, Flash, Blues, Postie, Jethro, Blink & James II.

At precisely 7:22pm ‘Lets get ready to rumble’ echoed from the gallant adjudicator Lord Dave of Perdiswellshire to commence the match.

It was the Purple Pillagers who started with more gusto, this seemed to force the attackers of Shambles to become disorientated and distracted from their duty of defending allowing a Knowles Cavalier to embellish the ball into the back of the net from distance, much to the anguish and disdain of James II who unleashed a folly of diatribes aimed towards a specific to be unnamed comrade.

Speaking of which, Blues soon made amends of calamity by composing a devastating equaliser to bring the sides level pegging at 1-1. Confidence then spread throughout the team like wildfire, sparking Worst into nearly adding to the Shambles tally from a set piece and Postie only just failing to deliver further bounty.

HALF TIME 1-1

With the ongoing crowd warming to Shambles and voicing their support the team looked revitalised and majestic as they boarded the wooden grass for the second half. From how the mighty Shambles were playing at the beginning of the second half you could have been fooled into thinking the team in the first half were doppelgangers/ impostors.

Blues now on fire decided to net a further 2 goals without reply making the score 3-1. It was now becoming a feeding frenzy with the whole team hungry for goals as they had now mastered the art of defensive justice.

Blink was first to get his share of glory to make the score 4-1.

Flash then grasped the moment and came to feast on the carcass which was Knowles and tried his upmost to emulate hatrick hero Blues; but could only net 2 before hitting the post. 6-1

At the final whistle the Knowles were lucky to walk out alive after the second half onslaught from the conquering Shambles.

FINAL SCORE 6-1
