Having reported on Shambles games before, it came as no real surprise that there was going to be action packed entertainment for the entirety of the 20 mins and also a 12 goal thriller to boot... Not a bizarre 6 all draw after throwing away leads or magical comebacks; or a narrow 7-5 defeat; or even an absolute drubbing! This one was very different!
 
Shambles set about the job in hand in relentless fashion... It was like lambs to the slaughter!
 
Within 10 first half minutes the Shambles lead 6 - 0! Darren must have wondered what had hit him... Poor lad! Unfortunately for him it was to get worse... to the tune of double figures! Didn't have time to give him a leaving present so a proper mauling on the pitch was as good as anything!
 
Worst with a quick free kick put the wheels in motion for the most one-sided first half in Shambles history; Old Bully Bully was up to his usual tricks claiming attempted goals when they were quite clearly flukes... this one was a tackle which found the bottom corner! Good link up play from the Blue Nose and Blink lead to them both grabbing a brace of goals before the interval...
 
After complete domination and control in the first period it was unlikely that the very high standards set, would be continued throughout... However, the positivity in front of goal remained... Blue Nose completed his hat-trick with a left foot thunderbolt; Bully scored a GENUINE goal and Blink managed to bag a couple more... As is complete with a Shambles 5-a-side affair, there were some signs of encouragement, for the opposition, but only by the way of 2 goals in mere consolation...
 
So there we have it... a 12 goal thriller... Shambles 10 Westside 2!! On closer inspection the game also brought about 5 unlikely facts regarding the Shambles fortunes...
 
The new shirts would appear to have done the trick so far... Watch this space!
