The Shambles line up this week included their lone goalscorer from the previous game, Dave " The Exocet" , whose blinding pace and pinpoint pinpoint finishing created the goal. His team mates were expecting his trademark "Doodlebug" shot, so called because like the German missile, once launched you could not be sure exactly where it would land.
James opened the scoring this week for The Shambles, only because Dave was on the bench of course!
At this point Dave came on, his electric pace and deadly finishing seeing the Shambles conceding 2 goals to go 2-1 down.
A lesson in persistence saw Craig equalise for the Shambles and Dave was still at top pace.
A see saw ist half saw BJH take a 3-2 lead into the break. Their sole 5 representatives playing with confidence.
The 2nd half saw BJH take a 4-2 lead before James pulled one back to make it 4-3.
BJH then made it 5-3, no doubt inspired by Dave's example of blinding pace and pinpoint finishing.
Craig then scored his second of the night, closely followed by James' hat-trick (Dave, no it's not the type where someone pulls a fluffy-wuffy bunny out!).
Then Ade made it 6-5 to the Shambles, and a long sought after victory seemed near at hand. Sadly, it was not to be.
Darren was unsighted as BJH launched a speculative long range effort around Graham in defence, who was motionless, like a rabbit caught in a headlight, as he observed Dave's blinding pace, 6-6.
Whilst this match may not have been between the elite of the division, it was an entertaining and sporting occasion, and Dave's pace and finishing (in his head) was the icing on the cake.
