After this game, The Shambles find themselves anchored to the bottom, like a stricken Russian sub at the bottom of the Bering sea. Similarly, there may be no hope of rescue and the crew need to make the repairs themselves.
The Shambles managed to take a 1-0 lead this week, and never looked likely to concede in the first half. They matched the opposition and the confidence grew, with fine interplay.
The second half started in the same vain, but the luck seemed to have run out when Dave the Ref awarded a penalty, apparently for a Shambles Player stepping into the goal area.
Darren, the Shambles Keeper adopted a clever stance and managed to save the penalty. Lady Luck seemed to be smiling on the 'Yellow & Blues'.
Sadly, Lady Luck can also be fickle. Minutes later YM equalised with a long range effort which went across the keeper and low into the far corner.
The Shambles began to lose their shape, and were soon looking like they had stepped off a roundabout that had been spun really fast, the oppostion pulling them this way and that.
Both sides suffered from poor shooting at times, but it was The Shambles who were to rue this as they missed some golden opportunities. Sadly it cost them dear, as YM went on to score 3 more goals to take the spoils 4 -1.
