SHAMBLES 0 : BBQ CREW 7
SHAMBLES 0 : BBQ CREW 7

Oh dear oh dear, what promised to be a more positive start to the second half of the season didnt so much as stumble but fall flat on its face!

The Shambles were fielding another skeleton team with notable absentees Craig (back), Chris(back), Darren (ribs) and Ade (Pies!) all  still trying to shake off their relevant injuries.

Yet again more players were drafted in as last minute replacements ; Rob, Dave R. and Goalkeeper Kevin all hoping to make their mark.

The game started off fairly evenly with both teams trying to get a hold of the game, but it was BBQ who were the more structured side with some good passing and moving that tested keeper Kev on his debut.

Inevitably BBQ went ahead when, after a great tackle from Shambles' defender Keith who then looked as if he'd been felled by some invisible lumberjack and seemed to just topple over giving possession straight back to BBQ who slotted home, 1 - 0.

This was followed shortly after by a second from distance 2 - 0.

Shambles tried to get back into the game and , even though they started to string some good passes together, were simply outplayed by a better , more organised side. half time say them down 4 - 0.

The Second half saw Shambles start to play a lot better and they looked like they might at least get a goal back but it was not to be with Rob hitting the post twice and just about summing up Shambles' attempts to score even though they had more chances to do so. Firstly Ian went on a battling run up the left wing to be denied by the BBQ keeper, then Graham found himself unmarked following a great through ball from Dave but could not get on the end of it.

BBQ added 3 more before the Ref blew for full time. 7 - 0.

Overall Shambles were unlucky not to score at least one goal but the make shift team were ultimatly no match for the better organised BBQ CREW who simply outplayed them, with their slicker passing and movement.

better luck next time against COOGANS!
