A valiant effort by the rather depleted Shambles side saw them face their biggest loss of the season against Top of the table team, The Mug. It was evident from the off that The Shambles were facing an uphill struggle as the dominant Mug side soon started to take advantage of a Shambles team pacing themselves for the seemingly long game.
Soon the Mug were a goal ahead, then another and ,despite some promising passing and movement from The Shambles, found themselves 5 - 0 up by half time. The whistle giving the stretched Shambles at least a moment to catch their breathe!
The second half continued where the first had ended with The Mug scoring again. However the Shambles fighting spirit kicked in and soon managed to settle things down and muster an attack, first with a goal from returning striker ,Dave , then another goal from in form Graham ( 3 in 3 now mate!!) . Shambles could have added a few more with a couple of strikes being blasted over the bar by Dave and then Ade. With The Mug using their subs effectively and a couple of dodgy ref decisions that didnt do The Shambles any favours ( A Blatant foul on Ade led to another Mug goal!) , the game was finally killed off with The Mug winning 11 - 2.
Special mention to keeper Tom who, despite the high score pulled off some great saves.
