The final game of the season saw The Shambles defeated by the young Blackpole side.

Despite taking an early lead, The Shambles never really got to grip with the game and again ,missing keeper James, had to use solid defender Ian as a replacement. Having only a single sub also affected the tired old legs of most of The Shambles seasoned veterans.

Whatever shots the Shambles seemed to get on target , were handled effectively by the outstanding Blackpole keeper.

A dissapointing end to a good first season in the middle flight which saw club records equalled and a feeling of  " if only " a consistant squad !

All that remains for this season will be our glorious cup run!

The Shambles returned to winning ways with a composed but far from dynamic display. Josses Giants, a man down from the outset, were stopped from repeating their lightening start which lead to a three goal deficit in two minutes in the last fixture. Although they approached half time with a two goal lead, the scratch Shambles team remained focussed and, although they couldnt lift their own tempo, edged ahead early in the second  half  to run up a 5 - 3 lead and despite the score being pegged back to 5 - 4 never really looked troubled once they took the lead.

Although not one of the best performances The Shambles must be pleased in getting one back after the shock defeat to JG earlier in the season. A good game by Dave saw him return to scoring ways with a well deserved hatrick with additional goals from Tim and Michael. The tally could have been higher wih JGs keeper pulling off a cluster of saves.

Unfortunately The Shambles victory came at a cost with Carlos limping off early on with a thigh strain to add to the treatment room already rather congested with James, Graham and maybe Carl (if we knew where the illusive pimpernel was). This could have been made worse with Tim luckily shrugging an early up ending challenge from JGs own juggernaut - Ryan. Tim, not normally aggravated by such challenges was close to retaliation but held back purely because of his acquaintance with the perpetrator. Not to be outdone,  Tim got level in the second half whilst clearly and precisely taking the ball.

Well done The Shambles, just two games to go and Division 2 survival virtually secured. The same cant be said for JG - Bye bye!
